Hiring a self- drive canal boat on the beautiful waterways of the Alsace region is an excellent holiday choice. Why not head to the city of Strasbourg and its famous ‘Petite France’ historic district.

Heading west and in the opposite direction will take you to Lützelbourg where you’ll encounter the unique feat of engineering that is the famous boat lift. After Lützelbourg, you’ll reach the unusual tunnels of Niderviller.

Swimming, fishing and other activities on and in the water can be enjoyed on the lakes that border the Sarre Canal.
