From Saverne to Strasbourg, in the heart of typical and gourmet Alsace

This boating holiday will take you into the heart of the European capital, Strasbourg. From your stopover at the “Bassin de l'hopital” port, you can visit Strasbourg and its charming neighborhoods on foot.

Departure base

Located at the foot of the Regional Natural Park of the Northern Vosges which is classified as a World Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO, the marina of Saverne is an excellent starting point for a boating holiday.  From here you can discover a region rich in gastronomy, culture, heritage and nature.

Saverne: Rohan castle (museum), Haut-Barr castle, Saverne‘ s old town, Centre Nautique l’Océanide – waterpark

Hochfelden: Brasserie Météor – beer brewery (group visits in july/august) Aquatic Center Atoo-o – swimming centre

Brumath: Archaeological museum

Strasbourg - Bassin de l'hopital: “Little France”, beautiful banks of the river Ill, cathedral, Council of Europe and European parliament (only for group visits), Brasseries Heineken / Kronenbourg, the Palais Rohan place museum (art and décor, “beaux-arts”), Musée alsacien – museum of Alsace

After exploring Strasbourg, continue on to Boofzheim where you need to turn for the return leg of your journey. You can enjoy the beauty of the Alsatian landscapes again as you cruise back to the starting base at Saverne.

A first for us ... and certainly not the last!
We really enjoyed our week on the water and had a very relaxing time. This was our first river cruise ... but it will certainly not be the last!
