MECKLENBURG REGION - Germany

Various sailing restrictions from 20.10.2023, as well as locks that close at 3 pm. The current information will be communicated to customers when taking over the boat.

BOURGOGNE REGION: Venarey - closure due to insufficient water supply

Due to insufficient water resources, the Burgundy canal will be closed to navigation between Pouilly and Ancy le Franc from Sunday 17 September 2023 at 19:00, which means that our base at Venarey-les-Laumes will be closed from Monday 18/09/2023 until the end of the 2023 season. Clients affected will be contacted so that we can work together to find a solution.

See the notice to skippers.

BRITTANY REGION: Glénac - Closure of Bief 29 in Montertelot

Closure to navigation on the Canal de Nantes à Brest from 01/10/2023 of the Montertelot reach 29. Customers wishing to sail on the Canal towards Josselin will have to stop at Roc St André.

Navigation on the Canal de Nantes à Brest as far as Guenrouët and on the Vilaine remains possible.

See the notice to skippers.

AQUITAINE REGION: temporary closure of Buzet-sur-Baize base

Closure of navigation on the Baïse on Sunday 22 October at 6pm for repairs to the Baïse descent double lock. Navigation on the Canal de la Garonne remains possible.

BURGUNDY REGION: Closing of the Brienon-sur-Armançon nautical base:

Over the past 4 seasons (2019 - 2022), our BRIENON base located on the north of the Burgundy Canal has been impacted 3 times by drought problems.

At the end of February 2023, we have just been informed by the river authorities (Voies navigables de France Bourgogne) that the water reserves are unfortunately very insufficient to guarantee navigation beyond June 2023 in this northern sector, namely: Migennes – Tonnerre. This particularly sensitive area currently has a 40% deficit in water reserves.
Consequently, we have made the decision not to reopen the Brienon base in 2023, while waiting to find better alternatives for 2024.
All cruises in the Burgundy region will therefore only be round trips from/to Venarey / Venarey for the 2023 season.

01/10/2022 – BRITTANY REGION – Canal de Nantes à Brest (department 44 – Loire Atlantique)

The Canal from Nantes to Brest, in the department 44, is supplied with water by Lake Vioreau.
This lake must be emptied of its water in October 2022 to carry out work on its dam.
Indeed, the structure built in 1835 no longer guarantees a sufficient water level to circulate on the canal from Nantes to Brest.
Part of the canal (between the town of Redon and the River Erdre) will therefore be closed to navigation for a year and a half, from autumn 2022 to spring 2024.

Therefore, our base in Sucé sur Erdre will be closed for the entire 2023 season.
One-way trips will not be possible during this period, between our two bases in Brittany: Sucé sur Erdre and Glénac.
