In this flash news, find the information provided by the french waterways (VNF : Voies Navigables de France) and the various territorial authorities in charge of the river network:
17/05/2022 – REGION BURGUNDY
We have been informed by the local authorities (Voies navigables de France) of navigation difficulties on the Burgundy Canal due to the presence of aquatic plants in the biefs 75Y to 79Y (Ravières / Chassignelles sector) and 99Y to 101 Y (Cheney / Flogny la Chapelle sector).
In addition to the difficulties of navigation due to the slicks of aquatic plants drifting on the surface, this incident leads to an extension of the drying time and waiting times at the locks. VNF service agents put all their efforts into the removal of these plants as soon as possible.
In view of these difficult sailing conditions on the Burgundy Canal, we imperatively ask all boaters who embark from the base of Brienon-sur-Armançon, to take the Yonne towards Sens or Auxerre, in order to sail in optimal conditions. In case of navigation on the Burgundy Canal, the boater will be financially responsible for the damage caused to the boat by the presence of invasive plants (congestion of the propellers, engine overheating, risk of engine breakage or propeller shaft).
For those who have no other option than to take the Burgundy Canal (case of one-way cruises between Brienon and Venarey, or Venarey and Brienon) we ask the greatest vigilance of everyone and recommend extreme caution to all boaters sailing on these sectors to avoid that algae come to hinder the propellers, at risk of causing damage to the boats entrusted to them.
30/11/2021 – ANJOU REGION
In 2022, works on the rivers SARTHE will begin form the 1st sept.
All the boats located in Sablé-sur-Sarthe will be transferred to the base in Grez-Neuville for the end of the season.
